Tom Richardson Dip PFS CII (Life and Pensions) Director

I am best known to my friends and clients as Tom. My career in financial services started in April 1991 with Royal London, initially as a financial adviser before taking up a management role in 1993 as a Life Specialist where I excelled for the next 9 years before becoming an Area Manager in Newcastle Office in 2002 until 2004. In my time with Royal London, I achieved Competent Adviser Status both as an adviser and as a Supervisor also achieving the Financial Planning Certificates 1,2 & 3.

My role as a life specialist involved me working each week in a different office, either in the Northeast, Cumbria, Scotland, Belfast, or the Isle of Man. My job description was the production of quality and compliant new business and the development of advisers via product knowledge and training. In my role as Area Manager, I was responsible for the supervision, training, and competence of a team of 8 advisers.

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Insurance having completed the CII Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning and I am entitled to use the designation Cert CII (Life and Pensions) having passed J04 Pension funding options, R01 Financial Services Regulation and ethics, R02 Investment principles and risk as well as CF8 Long term care insurance. In 2004 I made the decision to set up our own company Richardson & Associates building on and utilising the strengths I gained in my 14 years at Royal London.
